Slurry pumps, as a type of general machinery, have a wide range of applications. With the development and evolution of water slurry pumps, various types of water slurry pumps have emerged, with a wide range of names. Different water slurry pump books have different names and classifications for these water slurry pumps.
Therefore, it causes trouble for the application and promotion of the product. Generally speaking, according to the drainage principle, water slurry pumps can be classified as:
1. Vane slurry pumps such as: centrifugal slurry pumps, mixed-flow slurry pumps, axial-flow slurry pumps, etc., swirl slurry pumps;
2. Positive displacement slurry pumps such as plunger slurry pumps, gear slurry pumps, screw slurry pumps, etc.
3. Other types such as jet slurry pumps, water hammer slurry pumps, etc.
Among them, blade slurry pumps can be classified into horizontal and vertical types according to their structural forms. According to the working position, they can be classified into submersible slurry pumps and above-ground slurry pumps. Slurry pumps, mud slurry pumps, sand slurry pumps and sand-discharging submersible slurry pumps are all named according to the functional applications of water slurry pumps and all belong to impurity slurry pumps.

Domestic enterprises engaged in the production of slurry pumps and the processing of their accessories all face the problem of choosing mechanical processing tools, which is determined by the basic performance of their products. The main feature of slurry pumps is that the fluid transportation paths all have very high wear resistance or corrosion resistance, so they are suitable for transporting abrasive or corrosive slurry. Its products are widely used in projects such as mining, metallurgy, petroleum, coal, transportation, power, building materials and municipal engineering, for mining, dredging, and the transportation of highly abrasive and high-concentration slurries such as tailings, concentrate sand, ash, coal slime and iron powder.
At present, the wear-resistant components of most slurry pumps in China are made of high-chromium cast iron. The casting hardness of high-chromium cast iron can reach about HRC65, making it one of the best-performing wear-resistant materials at present. It requires a large amount of alloy and has a complex production process. It was applied in China from the 1980s to the 1990s. Its mechanical processing generally uses hard alloy tools, and the processing technology is complex. High cost and low efficiency, its highly difficult mechanical processing has long been a problem for many mechanical processing manufacturers.
