The determination of the head of the machine tool cooling pump
The head calculation of the machine tool cooling pump should be composed of the system resistance (the sum of the resistance of pipes, pipe fittings and condensers), the height difference from the water level in the cooling tower's water collection tray to the cooling tower's water distributor, and the pressure required by the cooling tower's water distributor, with an additional margin of 5% to 10%. A common mistake made by designers is to calculate the height difference of the system as soon as they see it. Although the cooling tower is an on-time system, since the cooling tower comes with its own water collection tray, which is equivalent to the water tank being placed on the roof, the static pressure of this part of the water is offset by the static pressure required for the water supply pipe to rise. Therefore, only the height difference between the cooling tower base and the water distribution pipe needs to be taken into account.
