Four methods to improve the energy efficiency of stainless steel sand pumps

First, Select the lining material reasonably according to the type of ore

There are many types of inner lining materials for stainless steel sand pumps, such as high-chromium cast iron, high-chromium white cast iron and wear-resistant rubber, etc. Faced with so many material choices, many merchants are indecisive. High-chromium cast iron material is selected as it has good wear resistance and is only suitable for use in concentrators where the slurry contains large and sharp particles. High-chromium white cast iron material has good wear resistance, but its toughness is poor and it cannot withstand the rapid impact of large solid particles. Otherwise, it will cause the surface material of the impeller to fall off, and the cross-section is prone to form pits due to corrosion. The wear resistance and corrosion resistance of wear-resistant rubber materials are superior to those of metal materials, and they have great elasticity. However, they are only suitable for conveying fine-grained slurry without sharp corners. Therefore, the selection of stainless steel sand pump liners should be made reasonably based on the type of ore, so as to improve the utilization rate of the pump.


Second, select according to the actual required flow rate and head

When general users select stainless steel sand pumps, they only pay attention to the flow rate selection of the pump and neglect the head selection. Some people even think that the higher the head, the safer it is, so the head of the selected stainless steel sand pump should be greater than the actual head requirement, resulting in a large waste of electricity. The selection of stainless steel sand pumps should be based on the actual head requirements to reduce the number of installations and save electricity. In addition, it should be noted that when calculating the head, the loss head needs to be taken into account to avoid insufficient head of the pump, which may affect the pumping and drainage efficiency of the pump.


Third, the power of the motor and the stainless steel sand pump must be reasonably matched

The unreasonable power matching between the motor and the stainless steel sand pump is mainly reflected in two aspects: "a big ox pulling a small plow and a small ox pulling a big plow". Especially the first phenomenon is particularly common. The matching power is selected to be too large, resulting in a very large waste of electrical energy. However, if the power of the latter is chosen to be too small, that is, "a small ox pulling a big plough", it will result in insufficient slurry supply to the stainless steel sand pump. Overloading of the motor or its inability to drive the pump cannot ensure the safe and economic operation of the equipment. The solution lies in the reasonable power matching of the motor and the stainless steel sand pump.


Fourth, Install the stainless steel sand pump scientifically and reasonably

If conditions permit, when installing a stainless steel sand pump, try to minimize the use of elbows or eliminate the "three valves". The pipeline should be straight and short as much as possible. Do not set the outlet pipe in a "anti-aircraft gun" style. You can adopt methods such as horizontal installation or inclined installation to reduce losses. The diameter of the pipeline has a significant impact on the loss of head. It is best to adopt a water pipe diameter one grade larger than that of the stainless steel sand pump, which can improve the conveying efficiency of the stainless steel sand pump.
